About the Author
Paul Horowitz is a Professor of Physics and of Electrical Engineering at Harvard University, where in 1974 he originated the Laboratory Electronics course from which emerged The Art of Electronics. In addition to his work in circuit design and electronic instrumentation, his research interests have included observational astrophysics, X-ray and particle microscopy, and optical interferometry. He is one of the pioneers of the search for intelligent life beyond Earth (SETI). He has also served as a member of the JASON Defense Advisory Group. He is the author of some two hundred scientific articles and reports, has consulted widely for industry and government, and is the designer of numerous scientific and photographic instruments.
Winfield Hill has held positions at numerous organisations, including Harvard University's Electronic Design Center and Sea Data Corporation. Currently he is the Director of Electronics Engineering at the Rowland Institute for Science where he has designed some 250 electronic instruments. Recent interests include high-voltage RF (to 15kV) and precision high-current electronics (to 6000A).

"THE ART OF ELECTRONICS" If you are looking for a copy chances are you don't need a review.

What can I say, a little dated but still a classic. Lots of practical insight on circuit details and common errors and misconceptions that can provide an in depth understanding of why one circuit works and another doesn't. Clear, direct, and well written with all the needed charts and drawings to illustrate needed concepts.
Delivered on time and with a dusk jacket. Amazing deal. I use it all the time as a reference.

Must have and read book for any electrical engineer. The stuff they teach you in school is nothing compared to the knowledge you can gain only from this one book. Forget the school, practice and practice again.

A Modern Classic.

Clear practical explanation and examples. Explanations stand alone without the math - like the classic Rider series of the 40's. Includes pragmatic applications usage. The math is available if desired but understanding but the text utility is not predicated on the math.
